Company History

A Timeline

Here is a brief timeline of our history.

1972 – 1973

Gerard (Gerry) and Timothy (Timmy) Clouthier brothers started up Pembroke Machine Shop. The business ran out of the inside of Valley Truck and Spring on Bruham Road in Pembroke, a business owned by their brothers Billy and Doug Clouthier.

The company expands into construction when Gerry and Timmy Clouthier invite their brother, Robert (Bobby) Clouthier to form another family business. The company is named R.G.T. Clouthier Construction, named for Robert, Gerard, and Timothy. The trio purchase the Clouthier Industrial garage on Matthews Avenue in Laurentian Valley from their brother Romeo. The Pembroke Machine Shop is moved to this location.

R.G.T. Clouthier Construction Ltd. purchases Valley Crushing from Bruce Hoffman. The purchase allows for the expansion of the business to include an aggregate division.

The business enters a new generation when Bobby Clouthier decides to retire after a very successful 26 years with the company. The next generation Dean Clouthier (son of Gerry) and Kerry Clouthier (son of Timmy) become Vice Presidents of the company.
